The World Pickleball League has signed famous southern cinema star Samantha Ruth Prabhu as its first franchise owner. The league is scheduled to begin play in January in India. The actress will serve as the team’s owner and spokesperson from Chennai. All India Pickleball Association (AIPA), Sony Entertainment Talent Ventures, and Natekar Sports and Gaming are partnering to create the league, which will have five additional franchises available for the inaugural season.
The inaugural season’s goal is to sell six businesses, with an emphasis on diverse ownership that includes two or more female owners. The league is aiming for seven cities: Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, and Ahmedabad, and will later choose six of these as franchise sites.
